The GFC300F series is the basic Disposall, and nearly every call falls into one of two buckets. A hum with no rotation means something is wedged against the plate; a silent unit usually means the thermal overload has tripped or power is not arriving.
Safe owner steps, in this order: switch the disposer off at the wall switch, then turn off the breaker for the circuit, then look into the chamber with a torch and remove anything you can see with tongs. Never put a hand in the chamber and never work on it with the breaker on. The reset button on the underside can be pressed once power is off at the breaker and the jam is cleared.
