What F52 Means
F52 means the turbidity sensor failed its calibration check. This code belongs to GE's LCD-display dishwasher controls (the panels that spell out F-numbers), not the older C1-C8 panels. The dishwasher calibrates that sensor against clean water so it can judge how dirty the wash water is later; when calibration fails, the soil-sensing cycles cannot work as designed.
Common Causes of F52
- Grease, soil or scale film on the sensor window
- Sensor failure
- Air or debris trapped in the sump during calibration
- Harness or control input fault
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Clean the filter assembly and rinse the sump, then run a cycle with a dishwasher cleaner or a cup of white vinegar to clear grease and scale film off the sensor window. One power reset is the owner-level step: switch the dishwasher's breaker off for about 30 seconds, restore power and run a short cycle. If F52 persists after the tub is genuinely clean, the sensor needs checking.

- The sensor sits in the sump assembly under the tub, beside line-voltage pump and heater connections.
- Calibration is driven by the control with service data - it is not something the front panel exposes.
- Damage caused during a repair attempt may not be covered - check your warranty terms first.
