What F65 Means
F65 means the inverter reported that no water was detected - the wash motor is not seeing the water it needs. This code belongs to GE's LCD-display dishwasher controls (the panels that spell out F-numbers), not the older C1-C8 panels. Running a wash pump dry is hard on it, so the control stops rather than continuing.
Common Causes of F65
- Water supply closed, kinked inlet line or clogged inlet screen
- Water inlet valve failure
- Blocked filter or sump starving the pump
- Pressure or level sensor fault
- Inverter or motor fault
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Check the household shut-off valve under the sink is fully open and the inlet line is not kinked. Clean the filter at the bottom of the tub and clear the sump of debris. One power reset is the owner-level step: switch the dishwasher's breaker off for about 30 seconds, restore power and run a short cycle. If water enters the tub normally and F65 still appears, the level sensing or inverter side needs a technician.

- The inlet valve and sensors are behind the lower access panel where water and line voltage meet.
- Running the machine repeatedly with no water risks damaging the pump seal, turning a fill problem into a pump replacement.
