What F350 Means

GE documents F350 as an issue with the upper cooling fan circuit, or an obstruction in the cooling fan. GE publishes this among its range and wall oven error, fault and function codes for models with electronic oven controls, and asks for a trained technician to diagnose F-codes. That fan protects the control and the surrounding cabinetry from oven heat, so this code matters more than it sounds - especially on a built-in surrounded by wood.

Common Causes of F350

  • Cooling fan obstructed by debris or something against the vents
  • Failed cooling fan motor
  • Fan wiring or connector fault
  • Control board output fault
  • Blocked vent path in the cabinetry

🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try

Let the cavity cool first - overheating and self-clean faults leave the oven and door far hotter than a normal bake. Check the vent slots above or below the oven door are not blocked by a towel, a tray or anything stored against them, and that nothing is resting against the appliance. GE's own first step is to switch the oven's circuit breaker off for a minute or two and then restore power. If F350 returns with the vents clear, the fan or its circuit needs service; do not run self-clean in the meantime.

⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That

  • Without cooling airflow the console and surrounding cabinet run far hotter than designed, so this is a heat-damage risk, not a nuisance code.
  • On a built-in wall oven the control and door-lock wiring are reached by unseating the oven from the cabinet - a two-person job with a heavy appliance on a 240 V circuit.
  • Damage caused during a repair attempt may not be covered - check your warranty terms first.

Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.

F350 FAQ

Not for long cycles or self-clean. Cooling airflow is what keeps the control and cabinetry within safe temperatures.

Yes, quite normal - it continues until the appliance has cooled, sometimes for a long time after a self-clean.
