What E01 Means
E01 is GE's equivalent code on 70-pint dehumidifiers with a built-in pump: the unit is in Pump Out Mode but water is not being expelled. The documented remedy matches P1 - check the pump hose and bucket, then reset by unplugging for 30 seconds.
Common Causes of E01
- Pump hose loose, kinked or blocked
- Discharge run too high for the pump
- Bucket not seated or full
- Failed pump
- Failed float or level switch
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Switch off, then check the pump hose is fully seated and not kinked, its outlet is clear, and it is not run higher than the pump's rated lift. Confirm the bucket is properly in place and not full. Refit everything, unplug for 30 seconds, and restart. If E01 returns with the hose and bucket correct, the pump or its float needs service.
