What F34 Means
F34 means the leak pan sensor under the dishwasher has detected water. This code belongs to GE's LCD-display dishwasher controls (the PDT/PDP-style panels that spell out F-numbers), not to the older C1-C8 panels. That pan is the last line of defence before water reaches your floor, so this code is reporting that something upstream is already leaking, or that the sensor itself is wet from an earlier leak.
Common Causes of F34
- Leaking door seal, tub seal or sump gasket
- Loose water inlet connection
- Cracked hose or pump housing
- Overfill from an inlet valve that does not close
- Wet or failed leak sensor reporting after an earlier leak
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Close the dishwasher's water shut-off valve, usually under the sink, and do not restart the cycle. Look for water under the front edge and in the neighbouring cabinet, dry what you can reach, and note whether it returns. Book service and leave the supply closed until the visit - a dishwasher that keeps filling while a leak is active is how floors and cabinets get ruined.

- Locating a leak means running the machine with panels removed, next to live wiring and a pressurised supply.
- If water has reached the control area, powering the dishwasher up again can damage it further or create a shock risk.
