What 007 Means
007 means the power supply is mis-wired, with Line 2 and Neutral reversed. These numeric codes come from the GFD-series GE dryer chart and are read out of the control rather than shown during a normal cycle, so the same number means something different on GE washers. This is a wiring fault at the dryer's supply rather than a broken dryer part, and it is the kind of miswiring that can make metal parts live - which is why it deserves prompt attention.

- Dryer cord fitted incorrectly at the terminal block
- Outlet wired incorrectly
- Wrong cord type used for the outlet (3-wire versus 4-wire)
- Loose or broken neutral connection
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Stop using the dryer and switch off its breaker. Do not open the terminal block or attempt to swap the wires yourself: on a 240 V circuit, getting this wrong is dangerous. If the dryer was recently installed, moved or had a cord fitted, that is almost certainly when the error was introduced - tell whoever does the work. Book a qualified electrician or appliance technician to correct the connection.
