What F62 Means
GE documents F62 on the GeoSpring as incoming water being too hot, with the advice to reduce any preheating of the inlet water or call for service. It usually means something upstream - a solar loop, a boiler, or a recirculation line - is feeding the heater water hotter than it expects.
Common Causes of F62
- Solar or boiler preheating the inlet water
- Recirculation line feeding hot water back into the cold inlet
- Plumbing connected with hot and cold reversed
- Failed inlet temperature sensor
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
If you have solar thermal, a boiler loop or a recirculating hot-water system feeding the heater, reduce or disable the preheating and see whether the code clears. Check the plumbing is connected the right way round - cold to the cold inlet - which is a classic installation error. Beyond that, call a plumber or service technician.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Changing plumbing arrangements on a pressurised hot-water system is plumber work - a mistake there means scalding water or a flood.
- Sensor diagnosis needs the heater isolated electrically and hydraulically.
