What Spin Light Blinking Means
A blinking Spin or Spin & Rinse light means an out-of-balance condition was detected. GE publishes this as part of the Consumer Help Indicator set on 2017 and newer electronic-control washers - messages meant for owners to act on, not technician fault codes. The washer reduced or skipped the spin instead of continuing, which is why the load can come out wetter than usual.
Common Causes of Spin Light Blinking
- Load bunched on one side of the basket
- Single heavy item spinning alone
- Washer not level or on a flexing floor
- Suspension components worn on an older machine
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Redistribute the load by hand, then run a Drain & Spin or Spin cycle - GE's own advice if the load feels wetter than normal. Check the machine is level and sitting solidly on all four feet. Splitting bedding and heavy items into their own loads prevents most repeat occurrences.
