A convection microwave has a heating element and a fan in addition to the microwave section, so it can fail in ways a plain microwave cannot: convection stops while microwave power still works, or the reverse.
That split is useful for diagnosis and it also means the unit often remains partly usable while parts are ordered. All internal work still involves the high-voltage section, so it stays a technician job. Do not run air fry or convection with the racks stacked beyond what the manual allows.
