What F6 Means
F6 relates to the wireless module on models that have one - the Wi-Fi hardware used for remote features and app connection. This code belongs to GE's LCD-display dishwasher controls (the PDT/PDP-style panels that spell out F-numbers), not to the older C1-C8 panels. It does not stop the dishwasher washing dishes; it affects the connected features.
Common Causes of F6
- Wireless module not connected or its connector loose
- Failed wireless module
- Router or network problem confusing the module
- Software fault cleared by a power cycle
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Wash cycles should still run normally, so there is no urgency. Try a power reset: breaker off 30 seconds, back on. If you use the app, re-run the network setup from the app, and check the home router is working normally. If F6 stays and connected features matter to you, book service; if they do not, the dishwasher remains usable.
