What F80 Means
F80 means the control saw no water flow, judged from the turbidity sensor readings. This code belongs to GE's LCD-display dishwasher controls (the panels that spell out F-numbers), not the older C1-C8 panels. The dishwasher expected the clarity of the water to change as it circulated and it did not, which suggests water is not moving through the wash system.
Common Causes of F80
- Blocked filter, spray arms or sump
- Item obstructing a spray arm
- Wash pump or diverter fault
- Low fill from a supply or inlet valve problem
- Turbidity sensor fault
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Clean the filter and check the spray arms spin freely and their holes are not blocked - a tall item can also stop the upper arm turning. Confirm the water supply is fully open. One power reset is the owner-level step: switch the dishwasher's breaker off for about 30 seconds, restore power and run a short cycle. If it returns with clear filters and a good supply, the pump or sensing side needs service.
